Macomb County Clerk Anthony G. Forlini (right) and the 16th Judicial Circuit Court?s Chief Judge, Hon. James M. Biernat, Jr., recently honored Macomb County?s many jurors in a special ceremony to commemorate Michigan?s ?Juror Appreciation Month.?

Since 2005, July has been designated ?Juror Appreciation Month? by the Michigan Supreme Court, to recognize the many Michigan citizens who serve as jurors each year ? and to encourage others to answer the call to jury service.

According to Macomb County Clerk Anthony G. Forlini, ?It's appropriate that we recognize the many people who give their time and serve the community.? Jury Service is one of the fundamentals of our legal system, and most of our jurors actually enjoy the interesting and rewarding experience.?

To mark the occasion, Clerk Forlini and Judge Biernat sponsored a special ?Thank You? cake and gave out slices to a recent full Circuit Court Jury Room.

?It?s a small way to thank the many jurors for their service,? said Judge Biernat.

We are so lucky to have such great clerks in Macomb County. Not only do we have Kristi, but we also have *Harrison Township Clerk Adam Wit*, who is the President of the Michigan Clerk?s Association.
