Dear A.,
What an incredible week it was in Washington for the U.S.-Israel relationship.
Nearly the entire Congress came together on Wednesday to celebrate Israel’s 75th anniversary and hear Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s address to a joint session. This powerful speech came just hours after 412 House members stood together to send a powerful and unequivocal affirmation of America’s support for Israel and the U.S.-Israel alliance.
The repeated standing ovations for Herzog make clear Congress’ overwhelming support for the Jewish state – a testament to our work together.
In case you missed it, click below to watch and share a 7-minute recap of Herzog’s 41-minute speech:

Thank you for everything you do to help ensure this American support for Israel never wavers.
Below my signature are some key quotes from the speech, as well as some of the other notable events from the past week.

called on the administration to do more to end the Palestinian Authority's heinous program that financially rewards terrorists who murder Israelis.
The members declare: "The Palestinian Authority has clearly continued down the path of more hatred, violence, and terror, without regard for the damage inflicted, or for their role in diminishing the prospects for peace."
Meanwhile,

new reports suggest that, "The Palestinian Authority does not have plans to crack down on the Jenin Battalion, whose members are affiliated with Palestinian Islamic Jihad, or other armed groups in Jenin."

Key Quotes From Herzog's Speech to Congress
On U.S.-Israel relations: "When the United States is strong, Israel is stronger. And when Israel is strong, the United States is more secure."
On Israeli democracy: "As President of Israel, I am here to tell the American people, and each of you, that I have great confidence in Israeli democracy. Although we are working through sore issues, just like you, I know our democracy is strong and resilient. Israel has democracy in its DNA."
On Iran: "The Iranian regime – together with its proxies throughout the Middle East – is aiming and working towards destroying the State of Israel, killing the Jews and challenging the entire free world."
On terrorism: "Palestinian terror against Israel or Israelis undermines any possibility for a future of peace between our peoples… successful terror attacks are celebrated, terrorists are glorified, and their families are financially rewarded for every Israeli they attack. This is inconceivable. It is a moral disgrace. Terror is not a bump in the road. Terror is hatred and bloodshed."
On peace: “There is no question that the peace which the United States brokered between Israel and its neighbors, has revolutionized the Middle East… Israel’s hand is extended, and our heart is open, to any partner in peace – near or far.”
On criticism of Israel: "I respect criticism... But criticism of Israel must not cross the line into negation of the State of Israel’s right to exist. Questioning the Jewish people’s right to self-determination, is not legitimate diplomacy, it is antisemitism."
On the future: "To us, it is clear that America is irreplaceable to Israel, and Israel is irreplaceable to America. It is time to design the next stage of our evolving friendship and our growing partnership together. "
