Breaking News: Ayanna Pressley has just introduced a discharge petition in the House for the ERA.
If successful, this discharge petition will clear the way for an ERA resolution that recognizes that the ERA has been ratified and is part of the Constitution. We already have more than 100 votes, so soon after it was introduced. We will keep you updated on the momentum of the campaign as we continue our fight.
Make your voice heard by signing the Sign4ERA petition. On the ERA’s 100th anniversary, we have a chance to make history and secure gender equality once and for all.
Right now, we are on the bus traveling to Seneca Falls to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the introduction of the ERA. Our spirits are high, but we need your help. Please go to sign4ERA.org and let your representative and senators know that you want the ERA now.
For equality,
Ellie Smeal

We will be traveling from DC to Seneca Falls for the ERA Centennial Convention on buses like the ones above. Look for us on the road!
On July 22, 1923, Alice Paul and her National Women’s Party unveiled the Equal Rights Amendment in Seneca Falls, New York. A hundred years later, we’re finally on the brink of enshrining it in the constitution - we need the ERA now more than ever.
Ferocious attacks on women’s reproductive rights and LQBTQ+ rights are on the rise. Young women today are part of the first generation to have fewer rights than their mother and grandmothers.
Both the House and Senate have resolutions declaring that the ratification is valid and should be enshrined in the Constitution. Tell your members of Congress to pass these vital resolutions as soon as possible.
There are two requirements to ratify a Constitutional amendment, and the ERA has met both:
✅ Two-thirds of the U.S. House and Senate proposed it. ✅ Three-quarters of state legislatures (38 states) ratified it. |
Nationally, some 85% of voters support the ERA. We want our Sign4ERA petition to reflect the overwhelming support for equal rights with hundreds of thousands of signatures. When you sign, it’s immediately sent to your Senators and Representatives. You can take action now!
Next weekend I’m going to Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the Equal Rights Amendment, to strengthen the ERA campaign. The centennial convention is intergenerational, with feminists who have dedicated their lives to gender equity and young people determined to push forward. Join us on July 21 and 22 where we will strategize for the ERA.
Register for the ERA Centennial Convention
Our relentless commitment to equality unites us. We are determined to never go back. As a strong supporter of the equal rights amendment, we need your support to make this an historic petition drive for equality.
After a century of organizing, it’s time—long overdue—to enshrine the ERA in the Constitution.
For equality,
Eleanor Smeal, President |
