** More than 40% of transgender adults in the US have attempted suicide

Our new study finds that 81% of transgender adults in the U.S. have thought about suicide, 42% have attempted it, and 56% have engaged in non-suicidal self-injury over their lifetimes. While transgender and cisgender adults report similar rates of hazardous drinking and problematic drug use, transgender people are significantly more likely to experience poor mental health during their lifetimes. Notably, transgender nonbinary adults reported higher rates of harmful drinking and drug use and poor mental health than transgender men and women.

** Development Assistant

The Williams Institute is looking for a person to support the coordination and administration of all Development functions at the Institute. The Development Assistant provides logistical and administrative support for gift processing, donor stewardship, and events. They oversee database management and reporting, and the scheduling of donor and prospect meetings for the Senior Director of Development. In addition, the Development Assistant will assist in identifying, soliciting, acknowledging, and stewarding annual and special-gift prospects and donors.
