Good afternoon, John –
Have you seen what's been happening at Texas A&M?
Last month, the university offered Kathleen McElroy – a former New York Times senior editor and a proponent of diversity, equity, and inclusion – to serve as the director of a new journalism program.
After Texas Scorecard's summer journalism fellow Valerie Muñoz exposed [[link removed]] the professor's radical leftist background, A&M rewrote the job offer and the professor decided [[link removed]] not to take the job...
...Then, the interim dean of the College of Arts and Sciences – who had made and changed the job offers – resigned...
...And just today, the President of Texas A&M University announced she is stepping down immediately as a result of the fallout of the botched hiring [[link removed]]—blaming "negative press."
Negative press, of course, is lefty-speak for "being exposed."
But make no mistake, this is because of you. Texans are tired of being force-fed leftist propaganda... and even more tired of paying for it.
So when Texas Scorecard broke the story back in June, Texans spoke out. Reporting the facts enabled citizens to act effectively.
Like other taxpayer-funded entities, public universities are – or should be – accountable to citizens. And they hate it when they are exposed.
I have some bad news for the bureaucrats: we aren't going to stop.
Texas Scorecard is continuing to investigate and shine a spotlight on woke politics infiltrating every level of government—from cities and universities to school districts and state agencies [[link removed]].
Texans can only be effectively engaged when they have real facts. By sharing our content with your friends, and by supporting [[link removed]] our work, you are making the Lone Star State shine brighter!
Thank you!
-Michael Quinn Sullivan
P.S. Your support today [[link removed]] means we can bring on more journalism fellows!
