John,
Today at 2 p.m. Eastern time, Randi Weingarten will take the stage at our TEACH conference—our biggest professional development conference—in Washington, D.C.
We hope you’re able to tune in. Click here to watch live on AFT.org.
Randi's speech will denounce political culture wars and talk about the real solutions kids and communities need. The AFT is committing $5 million of the union’s resources to tackle literacy, learning loss and loneliness to help America’s public school students recover and thrive. The speech will also call on legislators and activists to join the fight, to make it "a national priority” to call out extremist politicians banning books, censoring history and defunding public schools in favor of investments in public education like expanding community schools, experiential learning and career and technical education, focusing on student well-being, and investing in resources for educators.
We hope you're able to tune in.
In unity,
AFT
