That is a job I take incredibly seriously – Mexican drug cartels are poisoning Americans with deadly fentanyl and facilitating an unprecedented border crisis. They must be stopped. As Chairman of the Cartel Task Force I have three main goals: investigate cartel activity and bring in experts who understand how to defeat them, communicate with and educate the American public on the severity of this threat, and propose comprehensive legislation that can be signed into law to destroy the cartels. I’ve proposed these legislative solutions myself, such as giving the American military the authority to take action by, with, and through the Mexican government against the cartels. I’ve also introduced bills to target cartel finances and increase criminal penalties for anyone who aids and abets them. I will keep you posted on my efforts throughout this process. My Task Force will not complete its work overnight, but we are finally beginning to treat this threat with the seriousness it deserves. PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM PSEUDOSCIENCE CLICK HERE OR ON THE IMAGE ABOVE TO READ MORE This week, the Energy and Commerce Committee advanced my legislation to prevent taxpayer dollars from going toward programs at children’s hospitals that perform so-called “gender affirming care” on minors. Even the term “gender affirming care” is a misnomer created by the left to hide what is really going on — permanently changing a child’s sex with puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and even surgery. My bill is very simple — all it says is that taxpayer dollars that support the Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education Program cannot be used to fund facilities that engage in unproven, dangerous medical practices on our kids. When 70% of taxpayers oppose using puberty blockers on children - let alone hormone therapy or sex change surgery - they should not have to fund these programs with their tax dollars. As usual, the left launched emotional attacks against me during debate over this issue in the Energy and Commerce Committee. They called me “cruel” for introducing this legislation, without once acknowledging the cruelty of the ramifications of permanently changing a child’s sex. My legislation will now go to the House floor for a vote, and the left will do everything in their power to defeat this common sense policy and lie about our efforts. STOP TAXPAYER FUNDS FROM GOING TOWARD CHILD SEX CHANGES ELIZABETH WARREN DOESN'T UNDERSTAND ECONOMICS For someone who sits on the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Banking Committee, Elizabeth Warren has zero understanding of basic economics, as is evidenced in the ridiculous tweet above. Elizabeth Warren believes higher taxes and bigger government will grow the middle class, which is why she supports Joe Biden’s economic agenda. But these proposals from the far-left will only hurt our economy and the personal finances of Americans at every economic level. What makes this debate frustrating is the fact that the policy solutions for growing the middle class are fairly straightforward. People need three basic things to enter the middle class: - Safe neighborhoods to live in - Businesses investing in their communities, which creates jobs - Lower taxes and a regulatory environment that is friendly to small businesses and entrepreneurs If the left really cared about the middle class, they would support these policies. But they don’t really care about the middle class, which is why they push the failed economic policies of people like Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden.
