Let’s try something a little different.

I know you get a ton of emails from me and other Republicans about the importance of hitting our fundraising goals and beating the Democrats.

Those emails are so important to helping us protect and grow our GOP House Majority, but this email is different from those.

I want to take a few minutes to tell you how the son of a fireman and grandchild of immigrants rose to the highest position in the most important legislative body in the world.

My story isn’t perfect, and I’ve certainly made mistakes along the way. I’ve most certainly been doubted - time and time again. But through my upbringing, I learned to never give up.

I was born in Bakersfield, California in 1965 as the youngest of three children in a close-knit family.
From left to right: My sister, Shelly, me, and my brother, Mark, circa 1968.

Bakersfield is a community where folks make their wealth by caring for the land, from agriculture or from oil. It’s an area full of hard working people who show grit and determination while always remaining optimistic about our future.

My dad was an assistant city fire chief. It was a tough job that required 24-hour shifts. We never had a lot of wealth, so dad had to work a second job moving furniture.

In school, I certainly wasn’t a standout. I played tight end on our high school football team, one of the places I learned the critical importance of teamwork in order to accomplish a task.

When I was 19, I ran my first business, Kevin O’s Deli, selling sandwiches out of the back of my uncle's yogurt shop. Eventually, I sold the deli to pay my way through college. It taught me a lot about personal responsibility, and I quickly learned how overregulation by the government affects small businesses.

It was during this time that I started to pay attention to politics. Jimmy Carter was president, and our nation was in the midst of an energy crisis. It seemed like Carter was telling us that America’s best days were behind us.

Then Ronald Reagan came along and told us that America is a shining city on the hill. That’s when I knew I was a Republican.

So I got involved in politics. I was elected chair of California’s Young Republicans and went on to lead the Young Republican National Federation.

But it wasn’t easy going. I remember applying for an internship with my local Congressman, only to be rejected!

At that moment, I never dreamed I’d one day have the opportunity to serve in Congress.

But my dad taught me to never be fearful of failure. You don't give up, so I kept pushing and went on to be elected to the state legislature and eventually to Congress.

Through it all, I never lost sight of where I came from and the real challenges facing so many families just like mine.

I’ve tried to bring that grit and tenacity to Congress, where I’m always willing to fight for those individuals that have been left behind.

That’s why I’ve led the charge to get Big Government out of the way and cut regulations and taxes to allow hard working Americans to thrive.

That’s why I’ve pushed to fund our military, support our first responders, and secure our border in order to ensure our families are safe and secure.

That’s why I’ve stood tall against the Biden Administration and government bureaucrats who seem to have forgotten that the government is supposed to work FOR the people and not the other way around.

That’s why I’ve fought to protect our freedoms from tyranny and make sure every American has the opportunity to live out their own version of the American Dream.

But our fight is far from over. Plenty of work remains to be done, and it is critical that we have Republicans in power to get the job done. We cannot afford to allow the Democrats to retake the House and roll back all the important progress we have made.

That’s where you can come in. If you want to help this son of a firefighter and grandchild of immigrants keep fighting for a strong and safer America, then I’m humbly asking you to make a contribution today.
STAND WITH KEVIN
Yet again, we are being doubted. The news media and the Democrats are confident they are going to take control of the House. They know the Big Money Machine is on their side, but I know something else…

I know that there is a movement of grassroots conservatives from all 50 states who refuse to quit and who will do whatever it takes to protect the things that matter most. I’m hoping you are one of those people.
DONATE TO SAVE AMERICA
I’m counting on you to join our movement to protect the GOP Majority and ensure that America’s best days are still ahead of us.

Are you with me?

-Kevin
