John, just when we thought things couldn’t get WORSE we found out none other than Kevin McCarthy is getting involved in the Alabama maps.
The Speaker of the House has been calling his GOP-friends in the state legislature asking them to support the map where the Black population in the 2nd district is only 38.31% — which is pretty clearly NOT a majority…like what the Supreme Court mandated.
The truth of it: National Republicans are scared. They know that they aren’t going to be able to suppress Black votes anymore, and if they can’t suppress votes, they’re at risk of losing their majority in the House.
We’re not backing down anytime soon, John. We need to DOUBLE DOWN on our efforts to mobilize voters in Black communities or we risk losing it all. Will you chip in $10 to help us?

John, have you been watching what’s happening in Alabama?
BAD NEWS: Alabama’s GOP majority redrew their maps and designed them to SILENCE Black voters.
GOOD NEWS:The Supreme Court ruled that the maps violated the Voting Rights Act and ordered them to be redrawn with a second majority-Black congressional district.
BAD NEWS: Alabama’s GOP majority has decided to just IGNORE the Supreme Court ruling, and is REFUSING to create another Black majority district.
GOOD NEWS: This is not our first rodeo when it comes to dealing with racist legislators who want to silence Black voices (and votes!) and John, you can help us fix it. Will you chip in $10 or more to make sure we have the resources we need to continue this fight and mobilize Black voters — not just in Alabama, but across the country?
