If the ACE Act is passed, it would silence our voices in the decisions that affect us.
It would open the floodgates to unprecedented secret money in our elections, put up new barriers to voting for millions of Americans, and trample on D.C. voters’ access to the ballot.
But the anti-democracy extremists pushing this bill are determined to cling to their own power no matter how many voters they have to silence in the process.
Rather than address real issues – like anti-voter state laws, aging and underfunded election infrastructure, and long lines at the polls – they’re chasing conspiracies and continuing to promote Donald Trump’s Big Lie, all to suppress the voices of voters they don’t agree with. Common Cause testified in Congress against the ACE Act this spring and pushed back against many of the bad provisions in this big money voter suppression scheme.
It’s unacceptable. We can’t allow extremists to nationalize voter suppression.
