** Practicing shared stewardship
------------------------------------------------------------

On Monday we met with state, federal and local officials in Beaver to learn more about forest management projects and to see how Utah’s land managers are proactively addressing the wildfire crisis. This cooperative approach to managing Utah’s forests – called Shared Stewardship – enables land managers to confront the urgent forest health challenges that are best solved by local, state and federal cooperation.

Since the initial Shared Stewardship agreement in 2019, more than $20 million from state and federal funds have been invested in active forest management projects. In 2022, we signed an updated Shared Stewardship Agreement to re-establish the state’s commitment to work collaboratively with federal partners to improve forest health and combat wildfires.

We appreciate the hard work of the officials and agencies involved in working together to manage and protect Utah’s forests! When we work together, at all levels of government, we can address crises on all lands through shared priorities and resources. Learn more about our visit here ([link removed]) .

** Showing up for teachers
------------------------------------------------------------

We were honored to join First Lady Abby Cox at her Second Annual Show Up for Teachers Conference! More than 2,000 teachers plus administrators and educator advocates attended this year to hear messages about happiness, professional development, and personal wellness. The community really came out in force to show educators they are valued!

Teachers are critical to our future, and we need to show our appreciation. To show our commitment to our educators, we’ve pushed through historic education and teacher compensation funding for the past three years in a row, and we’re not stopping there.

To all the teachers out there, we support you! Thank you for the great work you’re doing. Learn more about the Show Up for Teachers Initiative here ([link removed]) .

** Driving cattle through downtown Salt Lake
------------------------------------------------------------

On Tuesday, we saddled up and joined the Days of ‘47 for the annual cattle drive through Salt Lake City! It’s always great to get back to our roots and be on horseback to kick off the Days of ‘47 Rodeo and Pioneer Day celebrations.

Utah's pioneers exemplified perseverance, courage and faith. We strive to honor their spirit of community every day. Have a happy and safe Pioneer Day, Utah! View photos from the cattle drive here ([link removed]) .

** #OneUtah Agency Visit: UServeUtah
------------------------------------------------------------

One trait that consistently sets our state apart is the commitment Utahns have to service. Utah leads the nation in volunteerism and the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism – UServeUtah – exemplifies the values we have in Utah of service and giving back to the community!

On Thursday, we got to meet many of the hardworking individuals who make this commission exceptional and to see firsthand the incredible work they are doing. UServeUtah works to inspire, equip, and mobilize individuals and organizations to take action to transform their communities.

Thank you to our team at UServeUtah for having us! Learn more about UServeUtah here ([link removed]) .
