The extremism and blatant disregard for the truth by Jim Jordan and his fellow Republicans on display at last week’s FBI oversight hearing was disgusting and unacceptable. They turned what should be a routine hearing for Congress to exercise their power of oversight over the FBI into a political circus designed to spew conspiracy theories and defend Trump against his many indictments.
As the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, I will never be afraid to call out hypocrisy and abuse of power. And it is clear that Jordan and his cronies on the Judiciary Committee are using their positions to defend Trump at all costs. Contribute $10 or any amount to help me fight back:

Republicans love to pretend to be obsessed with "law and order," but instead they used this FBI hearing not for actual oversight of a governmental agency but to spread anti-government propaganda. All with the intention of undermining the institutions designed to keep Americans safe.
As I said in the hearing, “This hearing is little more than performance art. It is an elaborate show designed with only two purposes in mind; to protect Donald Trump from the consequences of his actions and to return him to the White House..."
Since the Republicans have taken over Congress, it has been nothing but hypocrisy and partisan games. Jim Jordan and the rest of the MAGA Freedom Caucus have put defending Donald Trump above the safety of American citizens.
Nothing is more unpatriotic than undermining the rule of law and disrupting efforts to keep our country safe. Republican efforts to attack and “defund the FBI” are putting Americans at risk.
I will never back down from calling about this abuse of power. But that makes me the target of extremist attackers who want to kick me out of Congress and to stop my ability to help Democrats take back the House.
