Dear team,

This week, we were back in court as the state of Texas argued to dismiss the Center for Reproductive Rights' groundbreaking case on behalf of two OB-GYNs and 13 women who were denied critical health care due to the state's abortion bans. We won't back down from this fight, but we need to know you're with us. [[link removed]]

I'M WITH YOU! [[link removed]]

Four patient plaintiffs and one doctor plaintiff in Zurawski v. State of Texas testified during the hearing, reliving their traumatic experiences, not for themselves, but in the hopes of saving other Texans from the same fate. But the state would rather go after the victims of its laws rather than re-examine the policies that have caused so much suffering.

During the hearing, the state's attorneys disparaged and attacked these brave women who nearly died and whose fertility was compromised because of the state’s draconian abortion bans.

And worse: they argued that the plaintiffs no longer need to worry about the bans because they are unlikely to become pregnant again as a result of what they experienced.

Plaintiff Dr. Damla Karsan called the state’s arguments "infuriating, so dismissive and really insulting," and plaintiff Taylor Edwards, a patient who had to leave Texas to seek care, described the testimony as “another gut punch.”

Does this callous disregard for our plaintiffs—and every other person whose life is put at risk by these laws—make you mad? Because I'm furious.

But I'm also committed. Committed to staying in this fight until people in Texas, across the U.S., and around the world have access to the reproductive health care they deserve. I'm so grateful that you're with us, and together, with your support, we'll stay in this fight for as long as it's needed. [[link removed]]
