2. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Cooper takes unearned credit, dishes undeserved blame on NC’s biz climate

"For the second year in a row, North Carolina was named the No. 1 state for business by CNBC. And, naturally, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper was selected to accept the accolades. It was a bit like if a group got first prize in the school science fair, and that one kid who didn’t really bother to show up to the work sessions — and who fought all the best ideas and dragged things out when they did happen to show up — was called on by the teacher to explain their success."

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Planned Parenthood tweaks lawsuit against NC abortion regulations

"Planned Parenthood and a Duke Health doctor have updated their lawsuit against North Carolina’s new abortion regulations. They filed an amended complaint Monday in advance of a return trip to federal court in September. A Sept. 21 hearing in Greensboro before U.S. District Judge Catherine Eagles will determine whether portions of the abortion law will face a preliminary injunction."

Whereas Planned Parenthood is doing everything it can to destroy life, we're celebrating it. On Tuesday, June 27th, the NC Values Coalition and the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America were joined by legislators for a celebration of life. The event celebrated and marked the one year anniversary of the Dobbs decision and effective date of NC’s Care for Women, Children and Families Act.

Legislators were invited to tour Gateway Women’s Care Center in Raleigh, and see for themselves the wonderful work pregnancy centers perform across our state.

4. NORTH STATE JOURNAL: With veto override votes set, Payton McNabb shares her story backing women’s sports bill

"McNabb was knocked unconscious and exhibited a fencing response, which indicates a traumatic brain injury, following a forceful blow to the head from a volleyball spike by a biological male playing on the opponent’s team. The sheer impact of left McNabb with significant long-term physical and mental effects, including impaired vision, partial paralysis on her right side, and anxiety and depression."

5. CAROLINA JOURNAL: NC Supreme Court could blunt local government efforts to block charter schools

WEEKLY PRAYER: FREEDOM

LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However, we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.

LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the security of the greatest of all possible loves.

Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect the constitutional right protected by our nation’s Founders. Be with legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their actions the protection of this particular and fundamental freedom.

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1)

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.” (Galatians 5:13)

“Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God.” (1 Peter 2:16)

Amen
