If you’ve been following yesterday’s by-elections closely then I’m
sure you share our delight at the success of Labour in Selby and
Ainsty, and the Lib Dems in Somerton and Frome, with the two parties
emerging victorious against the Conservatives, and with notable
majorities.
It is certainly likely that tactical voting played a hand in
securing these results, the old age method that more so than not forms
the path for a favourable electoral result.
HOWEVER, as the result in Uxbridge and South Ruislip has shown with
the Tories holding their seat, nothing is set in stone, and due to our
defunct First Past the Post Electoral System the road to ridding our
country of the current Government at the next election will not be a
breeze.
