Justice and equal opportunity mean acknowledging how racism has shaped the America we know today. Affirmative action has long been an important tool to address our history and ensure every student has the opportunity for success, no matter their background.

The Supreme Court's decision to prohibit affirmative action programs will only further exacerbate racial disparities in education. It's up to Congress to bolster our education system to keep these disparities from widening.
