IItalian actress reveals how she was pressured to abort her daughter but resisted (http://)

Italian actress Ornella Muti

In a recent interview with the Italian magazine Corriere della Sera, actress Ornella Muti revealed that when she was 18 she was pressured by an agent to abort her daughter. She was in the midst of filming when she found out she was pregnant.

Multi claims her mother also applied pressure for her to have an abortion but she told Corriere della Sera her response to both her agent and mother was: “Absolutely not!”

Writing about the story, Catherine Robinson of Right To Life UK spokesperson said: “Ornella Muti showed great bravery to withstand the pressure of those around her to choose abortion. Whilst the story ended well for Ms Muti and her daughter, all too often that is not the case.UK polling has also shown that a shocking 7% of British women have been pressured into an abortion by their husband or partner. Such statistics contradict the idea that abortion is always the ‘choice’ it is claimed to be”.
Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae breaks down on stage singing about abortion regret (http://)

US rapper Lecrae

US rapper Lecrae became emotional and had to take a break from performing at one of his recent concerts when singing the lyrics to a song that contained references to abortion.

The Grammy-winning singer has been open in the past about his regret over an abortion in 2002 that his girlfriend at the time underwent. The heartbreaking event is addressed in the track 'Good, Bad, Ugly', from his 2014 album Anomaly, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.

The lyrics of the song contain the following line: “I was scared my dreams weren’t gonna survive, so I dropped her off at that clinic. That day a part of us died.”

Get involved in the Humanity Campaign – Engaging with your Politicians this summer. (http://)

Now that the Houses of the Oireachtas have risen for the Summer, it's an excellent time to consider going to meet your TDs and Senators locally to ask them to take steps to bring some humanity back to the law when it comes to the abortion issue being debated in the Oireachtas in the Autumn.

We are delighted with all the interest in our workshops about how to engage with politicians effectively on the pro-life issue. Our fourth workshop in four weeks is happening next Wednesday, 2nd August at 7.30pm. The short event is a very helpful introduction to communicating with your politician or a refresher for those who have done so in the past.

We are very encouraged with the number of people who are actively engaged and interested in meeting their politicians with their concerns around the extreme recommendations contained in the recent Abortion Review Report and the recent Second Reading vote in favour of the People Before Profit Private Members Bill calling for more abortion.

Summer 2023 is a really important time for us to communicate with our politicians and remind them that the referendum promises of ‘rare’ abortions must not be forgotten.

Please take a moment to get involved in this Humanity Campaign over the coming weeks below

Remember even the smallest effort will make a big difference.

Thank you!

Adoptive couple force surrogate mum to terminate pregnancy after she’s diagnosed with cancer (http://)

Brittney Pearson

A surrogate mother claims she was told to have an abortion at 24 weeks by the adoptive couple after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Brittney Pearson, from California says she received a breast cancer diagnosis and delivered the baby at 25-weeks. She claims the male couple who paid her to be their surrogate ordered that the baby boy be denied critical medical care to save his life after birth.

Pearson says the unnamed couple wanted the baby “immediately terminated” and “erased” as they believed he would have serious health problems after being delivered at such an early stage.

Media reports in recent days claim the adoptive couple also sought to prevent Pearson from carrying the baby to term and giving him up for adoption. They're alleged to have told her that they didn't want their “DNA out there”, being raised by someone else. Pearson told reporters she feels “betrayed and heartbroken” over what has happened.

She refused to give more details about her baby and his birth other than to say her family got to hold him and that sadly he didn’t survive.

Better conversations: how to actually change minds about abortion (http://)
The Minimise Project ([link removed]) , an Irish pro-life group dedicated to changing minds about abortion via productive conversations, is running their popular interactive workshop in Dublin on Saturday, 29th of July. The workshop takes place at 11.00 sharp in Balally Pastoral Centre ([link removed]) (Eircode D16 E032). The workshop will run until 3pm with a break midway (please bring your own lunch).

Attendees will learn the basics of pro-life apologetics, including personhood and bodily rights arguments, as well as why personal conversations about abortion matter, and how to make a conversation persuasive and productive without putting people under pressure. You will also have opportunities to practice having conversations about abortion, where you can put what you have learned into practice.

Do you have pro-life material which could be historically relevant? (http://)
We are putting out a call for anyone in possession of any documents, photographs, correspondence, etc. relevant to the Irish pro-life movement throughout the decades. We are particularly keen to receive anything in your possession related to periods such as the 1983 referendum. A comprehensive history of the pro-life movement is yet to be written, but the historians of the future will need primary sources. We are asking for people to get in touch with the Pro Life Campaign (mailto:[email protected]) if they possess such material (no matter how old or dusty!) to ensure it is preserved now and not lost to the ages.
