We organized, we showed up, and we put the pressure on legislators.
Hi John,
Yesterday, we did what we do best: we organized, we showed up, and we put the pressure on legislators. We held a press conference in downtown Green Bay yesterday with local residents who are dealing with PFAS contamination – and made sure the senators authoring the current PFAS bill heard our voices.
You can even hear in Sen. Cowles’ voice that he is feeling the pressure in this news clip from WBAY Channel 2 News [[link removed]].
As you know, we are in the midst of running a major campaign [[link removed]] to tell key legislators working on the PFAS bill (SB 312) that the bill must be rewritten to uphold Wisconsin’s Spills Law, so the DNR retains the power to hold polluters accountable.
Because of your support, we were able to invest $20,000 into digital advertisements targeting Sens. Eric Wimberger [[link removed]], Robert Cowles [[link removed]], and Mary Felzkowski [[link removed]] – the senators communities with severe PFAS contamination.
We promised you we would stop at nothing to ensure this bill prioritizes the health of communities and properly allocates the $125 million from the state budget to the people who need it most. We are holding true to that promise, but it’s not over yet. Here are three things you can do to get us over the finish line:
1. Call your legislator today [[link removed]] to ask them to take the polluter loophole out of the PFAS bill. All the talking points you need for your phone call are in the form linked below.
2. Email your legislator using this form. [[link removed]]
3. Donate today to support this campaign and keep the pressure on legislators. [[link removed]]
Because of the actions conservation voters like you are taking right now, we are building a future where everyone has access to clean drinking water.
DONATE [[link removed]]
Thank you,
