Lauren Underwood For Congress

John, here’s a question we’re hearing a lot ahead of this weekend:

“Which upcoming movie do you plan to see first, ‘Barbie’ or ‘Oppenheimer,’ aka “Barbenheimer?” 😄

What folks may not be talking about is how the cost of a movie ticket has changed over the last 80ish years. The iconic Barbie doll debuted in 1959, when movie tickets cost around 50 cents. When the events of Oppenheimer took place in the 40s, they cost less than 40 cents a piece!

While we’re reflecting on how things have changed, and deciding which film we want to watch first, we’re also thinking about how the cost of running a winning campaign has changed. So, here’s where we ask if you’d be willing to add a donation to our campaign this month.

John, whether you’ve snagged tickets already, are still choosing between the two films or are looking forward to an entirely different movie, will you donate $1.80 (the price of a pair of movie tickets in the 40s and pair in the 50s) today?

DONATE $1.80

We understand that this may sound a bit cheesy, but Team Underwood truly could use your $1.80 donation or anything you can donate today. We’re still quite a ways away from reaching our July goal, so any amount helps! Click here to donate $1.80 >>>

Thanks and happy “Barbenheimer” weekend to all who celebrate,

— Team Underwood
