The Kitsap County Medical Examiner?s office has an update on the investigation into the death of an adult male who was found in the remains of a burned tent in Bremerton the morning of July 12, 2023.?
An autopsy was performed by Kitsap County?s Chief Medical Examiner Lindsey Harle. Due to extensive thermal injuries, identification as well as cause and manner of death have been pending due to the need for records comparisons, toxicology results, and outside testing.
The deceased person has now been identified as:
* Steven Hicks, a 52-year-old male with no permanent address but known to reside in the Bremerton area.
Cause and manner of death remain pending until outside testing results are available.
