Dear Jack,Summertime brings to mind sunshine, camping, popsicles.

Here at Save the Redwoods League, summer is jam-packed with work in the redwood forest. As the snowpacks melt throughout the Sierra Nevada, we throw ourselves into the urgent work that can only be completed now.

This year is special: Thanks to the Martinez Family Trust, in honor of the late Hugo and Beth Martinez, all gifts will be matched between now and July 21 up to $100,000 [[link removed]].

Will you make a matched donation to ensure Save the Redwoods League completes our critical summer to-do list? [[link removed]]

your dollar will go twice as far!

Here’s a glimpse of summer goals at Save the Redwoods League:
1. Planting seedlings in Alder Creek and working to ensure the forest can recover after devastating wildfires.
2. Tirelessly removing fuel and implementing fire management best practices to make the Santa Cruz Mountains more natural and resilient to future fires.
3. Restoring wildlife habitat at the former Orick Mill site.
4. Furthering Redwoods Rising by completing 600 acres of forest restoration, removing six miles of eroding logging roads, restoring rivers and streams damaged by failing culverts and crossings, and more.

My grandma used to say, "Make hay while the sun shines.” I guess you can say at the League, restore forests while the sun shines! [[link removed]]

Wishing you a relaxing and restoring summer season. Hope to see you out in the forest soon.

Thank you!
