Dear Friend,
We’ve all heard the story about six-year-old George Washington chopping down his father’s cherry tree, and not being able to lie about it. [1] And, of course, Abraham Lincoln was known as “Honest Abe.” [2] This Presidents’ Day, as we remember previous Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, we are furious that in 2020 we could not have a more different leader in the White House.
Donald Trump has verifiably lied more than 15,000 times. [3] He and his Administration regularly twist reality, sow confusion, and hide facts in an unending campaign to gaslight America — manipulating the truth and making people question what’s real — to serve Trump’s own ends.
Wear your “Don’t Gaslight Me” button to show you know exactly what’s going on!

Gaslighting is a noted form of psychological manipulation in which a person or a group covertly sows seeds of doubt in a targeted individual, making them question their own memory, perception, or judgement.
Women and families are not going to stand silent. We are done with the unending stream of falsehoods flying in the face of what we can see with our own eyes and experience every day:
We cannot stop challenging the grotesque misrepresentations of what is really happening in this country to our families, communities, democracy, and to our country.
***Don't want the button? Then just donate through here.
Your donation will be used to organize, to unite our voices, and to make our resistance to the gaslighting as strong as possible. Please support this critical work by pitching in now.
People in this country are living in a very different America than the one President Trump and his Administration brag about. For moms, women, people of color, immigrants, the LGBTQ community, people with disabilities, working families, seniors, and so many others, life has become harder since Trump took office, and hatred, bullying, and discrimination more pervasive, government services more scarce, health care more tenuous, and our country much less united, safe and fair.
This Presidents’ Day, as we remember former Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and why we've believed they were great, we renew our promise to never stop fighting to defend the truth and the American values of honesty and decency. We’ll never stop fighting the gaslighting.
