Dear ,
A lot has happened since the last time Factually hit your inbox.
First, hello! I’m Angie Drobnic Holan ([link removed]) , the new director of the International Fact-Checking Network. Since joining the team last month, I have had the great privilege of meeting and hearing from many of you working to fight misinformation and to put facts at the center of public discourse.
The strength and vitality of this community was on full display at the IFCN’s 10th annual GlobalFact summit, which took place June 28-30 in Seoul, South Korea, in partnership with SNUFactCheck.
More than 1,500 people from 80 different countries came together in person and virtually to discuss the current state and future of fact-checking. I’m especially grateful for those of you who joined my session where I answered questions about the future of the IFCN and opportunities for this network to be an effective conduit of truth, transparency and accountability.
As we continue to enjoy the momentum from our annual convening, we look forward to bringing greater opportunities for empowerment to fact-checkers everywhere — starting with this newsletter.
While the IFCN has ideas for this next iteration of Factually, I want to hear from you. How can this newsletter about fact-checking, misinformation and getting at the truth better support your truth-seeking ambitions? Would you like to hear more about fact-checking trends around the world? Or maybe get to know new fact-checking groups through mini-profiles? Perhaps you’d like to hear more about academic research on fact-checking effectiveness. We’re mulling over all those ideas and more.
Please send your thoughts to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . I look forward to learning from you.
Sincerely,

Angie Drobnic Holan
Director
International Fact-Checking Network
