JULY 20, 2023 ? The U.S. Census Bureau today released the 2020 Island Areas Censuses Demographic and Housing Characteristics Summary File (DHC) for American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Guam, and the?U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI).
The package includes more than 400 tables with data on age, race and ethnicity, household type, relationship, population in group quarters, whether the residence is owned or rented (tenure), vacancy status and other social, economic, housing and demographic characteristics.

Home Values Rose Sharply in U.S. Island Areas
Median home values in the U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI) were the highest ($290,600) among the four Island Areas included in the 2020 Island Areas Censuses released today but the biggest jump in home values (48%) was in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) from 2010 to 2020.
The new 2020 Island Areas Censuses Demographic and Housing Characteristics (DHC) tables provide detailed homeownership and home values data at lower levels of geography than available in previously released 2020 Island Areas Censuses data for Guam, CNMI, American Samoa and USVI.
