John,

Our friend Janessa Goldbeck in California’s 53rd District needs our help. She has a tough primary coming up in a few short days, on Tuesday, March 3rd.

Born and raised in San Diego County, Janessa has built her career around creating a safer and more equitable world for all. She’s a US Marine Corps veteran and businesswoman with extensive experience on Capitol Hill.

She started her career as an advocate for human rights in Darfur, Sudan. In 2011, when Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was repealed, Janessa—an out, LGBTQ woman—knew it was time to do something she’d always dreamed of and joined the Marine Corps. She earned the rank of Captain and was twice awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

We know Janessa is the right person to represent California’s 53rd district, and so does the San Diego Union-Tribune. In their endorsement of Janessa, they wrote:

“Goldbeck would be a refreshing, assured, morally courageous voice on Capitol Hill.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Will you split a donation between Janessa Goldbeck’s campaign and Serve America PAC today, so we can help Janessa get over the finish line?

As you know, Serve America exists to help elect veterans and other service-driven leaders to the U.S. Congress and in state and local races across the country. In 2018, Democrats flipped 41 House seats from red to blue; 18 of those seats were flipped by candidates endorsed and supported by Serve America.

I believe we need more people like Janessa in Congress. She’s running to help serve her country in a new capacity by listening to the people in her community and fighting for actionable solutions in Washington that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Anything you can give right now will go a long way toward helping Janessa Goldbeck get elected in California and helping Serve America realize our mission in 2020.

Thank you,

Marie
