Last month, the City of Atlanta approved funding for a police training facility known as “Cop City.” The plan faces massive opposition in Atlanta and nationally—and for good reason. It will be one of the largest militarized police training centers in the country. And it will destroy one of the country’s largest urban forests.
Our team in Atlanta is part of a coalition working to put a referendum on the ballot. The people should have the final say on how their tax dollars are spent, not the private corporations investing additional funds. But we are up against the city’s deadline to collect enough signatures—and we need your help.
