Hi team – I just got back from North Carolina, and as political director for the Democratic Attorneys General Association, I’m concerned. I saw firsthand that grassroots Democrats aren’t paying attention to critical down-ballot races and that could spell disaster for 2020.

Since 2016, Democratic AGs have been the most effective firewall at stopping the GOP’s extremist agenda at the state and federal level. And in 2016, we won North Carolina’s AG seat by fewer than 25,000 votes.

Republicans are making North Carolina their top AG target – it’s a battleground at every level including the presidential race – and they have already lined up tens of millions to make it the most expensive AG race ever.

If we’re going to have any chance at holding this seat, we need to step up our fundraising NOW. We need support from 500 grassroots donors before our swing-state strategy meeting tomorrow morning, but we’re still 213 short – so I pulled your supporter record, and here’s what I found:

Losing any Democratic AG seat would be disastrous, but losing North Carolina would set us back on everything from climate change to health care to gun violence prevention. We need your support to protect our Democratic firewall in swing states like North Carolina, but I’m hitting refresh on ActBlue and growing more worried by the hour.
