We officially have our first criminal charges in the fake elector scheme to steal the 2020 election after AG Dana Nessel of Michigan announced charges for 16 participants who allegedly acted as fake electors to overturn election results.

While Republicans — like the Republican National Committee member and GOP state and local officials who were each charged with 8 felonies each yesterday — work together to overturn elections, Democrats are working overtime to hold them accountable and protect our democracy.

That’s exactly why it’s so important we elect Democratic AGs in every state — Attorneys General have the power to take action to safeguard our elections. When the office is occupied by Republicans, traitors who try to steal elections get a pass. When Democrats are in power, we fight for our free and fair elections.
