Friend, When Donald Trump took over the presidency, there were over 100 judicial seats still open -- seats that Mitch McConnell had spent years blocking President Obama from filling.
Together, in just three short years, McConnell and Trump have completely remade our federal judiciary, a legacy that will have impacts for generations.
And Joni Ernst has been with them every step of the way, from blocking Merrick Garland’s nomination to approving Brett Kavanaugh and dozens of other unqualified but extremely conservative nominees. We have to put a stop to this takeover by defeating Joni, flipping the Senate, and ditching Mitch McConnell this November. The future of everything we care about is at stake. In just the last decade, the Supreme Court has gutted the Voting Rights Act, upheld Obamacare, decimated public unions, and enshrined marriage equality as a right. But this is about more than just the Supreme Court. One in four circuit judges are now Trump nominees. These are the courts that often review cases before they go to the Supreme Court. And if the justices decide not to weigh in on a case, the circuit court ruling is the final say. Trump has made it his mission to pick far-right judges to fill these seats that have been vetted by the Federalist Society. They have records of siding with corporations over people, expressed enthusiasm about overturning Roe v. Wade, and have been rated “Not Qualified” by the American Bar Association. And Mitch McConnell and Joni Ernst keep approving them. That’s why it’s so critical we take back the United States Senate, starting with defeating Joni Ernst. Thanks, Eddie Mauro | |
