Amid lush vegetation and the sound of rain dripping from leaves, you’re surrounded by a dazzling array of wildlife. Peculiar primates, elusive jaguars, and mesmerizing leafcutter ants scurry through the trees and stalk across the forest floor. Here, deep in the Amazon rainforest, you’re far from anywhere—and yet, you’re at the heart of everything.
As the world’s largest tropical rainforest, it generates oxygen, affects global weather patterns, and plays a pivotal role in mitigating climate change. This ecosystem is as vital as it is remote—and making conservation accessible, affordable, and effective here is crucial to protecting these habitats so all life can thrive.
With your support, we’re bringing high-quality, low-cost scientific resources and technologies to the rainforest. Together with our partners, we launched the Wildlife Conservation Laboratory at Los Amigos Biological Station in the southeastern Peruvian Amazon. At this in situ, or “in place” lab, we’re monitoring biodiversity and ecosystem health, empowering local scientists, and addressing regional threats—all right at the source.
You make it all possible through our Amazonia Conservation Hub! And for these groundbreaking efforts, alongside our partners, we’re honored to be recognized by Fast Company’s 2023 World Changing Ideas Awards in the Nature category. With you by our side, we’re changing the future of conservation, maintaining healthy ecosystems, and saving rich biodiversity for generations to come.
