John,

Justice Democrats Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Cori Bush, Rashida
Tlaib, and Jamaal Bowman did not attend the Israeli president’s address to
Congress today in protest of the Israeli government’s treatment of
Palestinians.

What they did is right and a model for what more progressives should be
doing. Israeli president, Isaac Herzog is coming to the U.S. during
Israeli’s most right-wing government in recent history.

How right-wing? High-ranking members of that government have publicly
voiced support for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Attendance is
complicity.

More than just rhetoric; this government’s actions have immensely harmed
Palestinians. Not only are they planning a massive illegal settlement
expansion, stealing the land Palestinians live on, but have also conducted
the largest military assault in the West Bank in 20 years.

Despite the Israeli government’s blatant anti-Palestinian racism, the
United States continues to send Israel $3.8 billion per year in
unconditional military funding. And when Justice Democrats like Pramila
Jayapal stand up for Palestinians, they’re condemned by our party’s
leaders.

Instead of surrendering to Super PACs like AIPAC, these Justice Democrats
are sending a strong message by skipping the Israeli president’s speech to
Congress: we need to be consistent in standing up for human rights here
and abroad, and not give any country or ally a pass.

While AIPAC and other right-wing groups are ready to spend millions to
silence anyone who stands up on behalf of Palestinian civil rights, the
more progressives who speak up, the better chance we have at overcoming
their millions of dollars and bringing true democracy and equality for all
Palestinians and Israelis.

leaders who will stand up for Palestinian rights. Will you donate
$3 right now?
