You asked for more New Politics success stories so today, I’m introducing you to a couple of fellow Marine Corps veterans — Jake Auchincloss and Mike Gallagher.

Jake and Mike may sit on opposite sides of the aisle in Congress, but they swore the same oath of office, and together, they’re demonstrating what putting people over politics looks like. Take a look at these New Politics servant leaders in action:

Mike joined the Marines the day he graduated college and went on to serve for seven years on active duty. His service inspired him to run for Congress, where he’s been an influential voice since we helped elect him in 2016.

Gallagher chairs the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (where Rep. Auchincloss also sits). Together, they are standing up for democracy and bringing light to human rights abuses. You can read more about Mike’s work in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel .

After graduating from Harvard in 2010, Jake commissioned as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 and later with a special operations unit in Panama.

In addition to his work on the Select Committee on China alongside Congressman Gallagher, Jake is consistently among the most bipartisan members of Congress. And regardless of which party is in the majority, Jake seeks and finds ways to deliver tangible results for all Americans. Read more about his bipartisan approach to the budget, here:

New Politics--

New Politics supports outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
