Congress can do more for our children.

Dear John,

You hear it all the time: Children are our future. But with high costs and limited providers, too many families in the U.S. lack the child care they need. The truth is, our child care system is failing kids – and setting us all up to fail. But, I have hope that together, we can turn things around.

Join me and tell Congress: End the child care crisis now! Take action to make child care more accessible and affordable for our families and children.

Take Action

We’re at a crucial tipping point when it comes to child care. Here’s just a look at what could happen when federal funding from the pandemic is set to expire in just two months on September 31:

  • 3.2 million children are expected to lose their child care.
  • 70,000 child care programs are expected to close entirely.
  • Parents could lose up to $9 billion a year from cutting their hours or leaving the workforce.

With child care costs averaging more than $15,000 a year, millions of U.S. families are already struggling to make ends meet. On average, families have to spend over a quarter of their income on child care, leaving too many parents in the difficult position of choosing between paying for child care and leaving the workforce entirely.

Together, we can make sure our Congress members know: We’re done waiting and we need to see them do something NOW! John, take a few minutes to sign our petition asking Congress to take action on child care.

Take Action

We’ve already seen the Biden administration make important strides on child care. Just last week, Vice President Harris announced a program to help cap child care costs, improve access to child care, and help stabilize child care providers so they can stay open and continue to support families. Now it’s time for Congress to catch up. I’m hopeful, thanks to supporters and advocates like you!

With care,
