July 19, 2023 ? The Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State today released notice of vacancies for various state boards, councils and committees that are accepting applications. Minnesotans are encouraged to apply and serve in demonstration of public service. The following new vacancies will be closing shortly but have received either?no applications?(or not enough to fulfill all seats) at this time. We highly encourage members of the public to apply before boards reach a final appointment deadline.

Members can be considered for more than one seat as "An application for a particular agency position shall be deemed to be an application for all vacancies in that agency occurring prior to the expiration of the application" (MN Statutes 15.0597, Subd. 5). We recommend that if you are interested in being considered for multiple positions on the same board, you write to the board's staff contact, (listed at the top of each board's webpage), letting them know.

In accordance with the Minnesota Open Appointments Law, the Secretary of State acts as an administrator in publishing vacancies, receiving applications and recording appointments. Applications will be reviewed and appointments made by the appointing authorities; questions about specific vacancies and appointments should be directed to the appointing authority. Applications are kept on file for a one-year period.
