You may know that Fox News is, again, facing some very serious legal headwinds due to their careless disregard for truth, honesty, and facts. The Dominion Voting Systems case was just the beginning, and the suits they are facing pose an existential threat to Fox and its parent company, News Corp.

And on top of this, we are currently engaged with Fox News and Lauren Boebert over their treatment of our fact-based reporting about Boebert’s past — details which are not only supported by evidence that we possess, but which also is of immense public interest.

Boebert wanted to keep her past conduct a secret in order to deceive voters. We — meaning you, and every single supporter of American Muckrakers — rightly said “not on our watch.” And so we took on Boebert, and we took on Fox News: because bullies don’t back down without good people standing up and fighting back.

In case you aren’t familiar with our lawsuit, it centers around Boebert’s baseless threats on right wing media about our revelations of her past. She publicly defamed American Muckrakers after we published fact-based reports about discrepancies in her personal life which seriously called into question her self-professed “conservative values.”

In response, we filed a defamation suit against her in a Colorado court where she will have to participate in a taped deposition. Under oath. If she tells the truth — the truth she is denying — then we win our case. And if she lies — which is second nature to her — Boebert could face up to five years of jail time under Colorado law. And she could also be expelled from Congress.

Our claims against Fox and against Boebert are just as serious as all the other cases brought against them that threaten to harm their bottom line. The difference between us and those plaintiffs is this: we are a grassroots funded group.

The only way we can ever be successful, the only way we can ever expose the actual truth about Boebert, and the only way that the public can have the information about political figures that they deserve, is if we present a strong case and show Fox News that we will not back down.
