Folks, – before I ever stepped foot in the halls of Congress, I was just a kid growing up on his family’s farm. (That’s me in the jersey!)

If you had told me that one day I’d own my own business and represent the people of MD-06 in Congress, I’m not sure I would have believed you. But how and where I was raised certainly shaped me and my approach as a legislator.

Mom and Dad taught me what it means to work hard and help others. So when we fell on hard times and lost our farm to bankruptcy, I vowed to do everything I could to provide for my family. That’s why ensuring safe housing for families is so important to me.

Right now, so many Americans and Marylanders are struggling to find affordable housing for their families. In Maryland alone, 353,000 renters spend more than 30% of their income on rent. That’s not sustainable and it’s not right.
