Friend: Who’s an undocumented person in your life without DACA? What would their life look like with DACA status?
I think about my little sister who doesn’t qualify for DACA and can’t apply for the program’s temporary protections and benefits.
If she had DACA protections, my sister would be able to go to school and get financial aid. Her immigration status wouldn’t get in the way of her applying for jobs, and she would be able to live her life free of worrying about deportation. We could even travel abroad together and see the world like we always wanted to.
DACA is life-changing, friend. But now more than ever, it’s not enough for undocumented youth.
Millions of people like my sister are shut out from DACA, and even DACA recipients could be left without protections with an anti-immigrant judge preparing to rule on the future of the program.
We need permanent protections now — so we can apply for jobs, get an affordable education, access health care, and live our lives proudly and free from the threat of deportation.
United We Dream Action was part of the coalition that helped win DACA back in 2012, and we’re leading the charge to secure a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients and all undocumented people.
This fight isn’t easy, which is why I’m asking for your support today: Will you chip in $7 or more to join our immigrant youth-led movement and support our fight for permanent protections?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for standing with immigrant youth.
