Two new team members!

Dear Friend,

For the last seven years, I have had the opportunity to be an organizer at DC Jobs With Justice. Our team keeps growing and I'm now part of DC JWJ's biggest organizing staff!

We're taking on more campaigns and using new tools. One of the things that I am most excited about is our new program engaging DC youth through our High School GoGo Tour! We are using DC's music and culture to educate young people about their rights as they get their first jobs and building empowered workers.

Our growing staff means more experience, more skills, and more creativity that we're bringing to DC JWJ!

Meet our two newest organizers:

Eduarda Serafim is our new Solidarity Organizer and has hit the ground running. In her first month, she has already joined the pickets at the Intercon and Union Kitchen, rallied with 32BJ, and is convening our partners fighting to defend I-82. Eduarda speaks Spanish and Portuguese and was active at American University during the staff union strike. Reach Eduarda (she/her) at [email protected].

Alex Samuels started just this week as the Data Organizer. Alex is going to be working on our wage theft prevention and eviction prevention work, as well as leveling up our data and research! Alex has been passionate about ending wage theft since writing his masters' thesis, “Combating Wage Theft in the District of Columbia.” Reach Alex (he/him) at [email protected].

I'm so excited to be welcoming these new organizers to the DC JWJ family! Your support helps us bring in awesome people and keep them in the fight. Please consider joining the Summer Sustainer Drive.

In solidarity,
