Clearinghouse on Male Circumcision for HIV Prevention

VMMC at IAS 2023
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleague,
Voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) for HIV prevention will be highlighted in one satellite session and a dozen posters at the 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2023) in Brisbane, Australia, and virtually from 23 to 26 July 2023.

Speakers at a 24 July satellite will present research results and lessons to date from efforts to develop more sustainable HIV prevention programmes and financing by embedding VMMC and biomedical HIV prevention in countries’ health systems.

A poster exhibition at noon on 24 July will include a poster presentation about a randomized controlled trial of the impact of male circumcision on HIV acquisition among men who have sex with men. Other posters will cover a range of topics, including demand generation, outreach, safety, scale-up, and continuous quality improvement, with reports from Malawi, South Africa, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

The abstracts for the posters will be available on Monday, 24 July, at 9:00 Australian Eastern Standard Time. A list with links to the webpages where the abstracts will be posted is available here.

Best regards
Clearinghouse Webmaster
