A group called "Libs of TikTok"—a network of right-wing social media accounts with millions of followers and a history of spreading anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda—has attacked the Banned Bookmobile on Twitter, and their lie-filled tweet has garnered nearly 1 million views, pushing dangerous misinformation about the Bookmobile out to MAGA zealots across the country. We know this is only the start of the right-wing attacks.

When we launched the Banned Bookmobile Tour, we knew that the far right would be furious.
After all, the Bookmobile is designed to combat their authoritarian efforts to trample on the freedom to learn and read.
What could be more upsetting to MAGA than a grassroots movement coming together to hire a bus and launch a nationwide tour to distribute books for free while drawing attention to MAGA extremism?
Now, the right-wing backlash is here in full force.
And it's exactly what you would expect: hate, homophobia, transphobia, and lies—all in an attempt to further their agenda to censor books, most of which are written by people of color or those who are LGBTQ+, and almost all of which teach about empathy, compassion, and accurate history.
