John,
Last week, the FDA approved a birth control pill for over-the-counter sale. That means that anyone, of any age, will soon be able to purchase oral contraception without a prescription from a doctor.
That removes a huge hurdle to birth control access for many folks, who might not have the time or resources to go see a doctor for a birth control pill prescription.
Now, though, the next question we have to ask is: How much is this going to cost?
Currently, insurance companies are not required to cover over-the-counter medicines. The pill’s manufacturer hasn’t yet announced the price of the drug.
Before they name a price, we want to team up with reproductive rights advocates like you and demand this over-the-counter birth control be priced fairly — to keep it accessible and affordable for the tons of folks who stand to benefit. Will you add your name now to apply pressure? [[link removed]]
