John,
We want to take a moment to share some information about two current pieces of legislature that you may be interested in. PAL (H.R.4612) and PRECISE (H.R.1459, S.720) are two key acts that empower farmers. Click on the highlighted links below to learn more about PAL and PRECISE!
🐮 The PAL Act establishes the first ever Precision Agriculture Loan program - which targets small and midsize producers, giving them access to additional lending options in order to implement new technologies.
- The bill covers any precision agriculture technology that improves efficiency or reduces inputs (such as fertilizer and water).
- It will help farmers either buy new precision agriculture equipment or retrofit their current equipment with advanced technologies.
🌽The PRECISE Act expands the definition of conservation practices and allows producers to access conservational loans to finance new technologies.
- Technology and conservation have always gone hand and hand. By expanding the definition of conservation practices in USDA programs, American farmers and ranchers will be able to leverage their technology investments in their conservation efforts.
Precision agriculture increases crop yields while lowering overall inputs and environmental impacts🍃. The expansion of affordable precision agriculture technologies and applications have the potential to substantially increase crop yields, improve distribution, and reduce input costs, all while lowering emissions and preventing soil degradation👍.
I Make America and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers are watching intensely to see if these two pieces of important legislation will be incorporated into the Farm Bill. Keep an eye on your inbox, as we will have opportunities during the week of the 24th for you to take action and tell your legislators to support PAL and PRECISE!
