Fundraising numbers are out, and so are the spending reports. Some campaigns are spending money on bloated staff and private jets. Some are spending it on fancy restaurants and Ulta Beauty.

Hey Team,
You may have seen reports on how other campaigns are spending their money. I want to remind you that here on Nikki Haley’s campaign, we run a tight ship. As you know, Nikki’s an accountant and she will keep track of every penny!
STAFFING
While we are a lean staff, I know each and every one of you is putting 110% into everything. We’ve already seen one campaign begin to falter by spending money on 92 staff this early in the game. That campaign had to fire at least a dozen staff because they’ve become so bloated. So while our staff is small, we are small but mighty. We’re doing with 22 people what some campaigns can’t do with almost 100.
TRAVEL AND LODGING
If you’re part of the road team, you know we’re not out there renting private planes like some campaigns. You’re flying a lot of Spirit and JetBlue. We’re getting you out to New Hampshire, Iowa, and wherever else you need to go with the most affordable option we can find. And when you all land, you’re driving the rest of the staff around in a rental car. You’re not staying in luxury suites. You’re staying at affordable hotels. And unlike some campaigns, you’re not going on a shopping spree at Ulta Beauty.
EVENTS
While another campaign spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the Four Seasons Miami for “events,” we’re stopping in bakeries and booking local venues. Our goal is to get Nikki out to meet every voter and shake every hand she can. We don’t need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on fancy venues to get that done. We set up and tear down our events with the handful of people on the road. We get the word out for our events on social media, email, text, and with our interns who are making calls to let people know when Nikki’s in their area.
We’re campaigning the right way, and I’m grateful that you’re a part of it. We’re in this to win it! Nikki has a powerful vision for our country’s future, and she’s going to make an incredible President!
GRASSROOTS SUPPORT
We’re raising as much as we can from grassroots donors so we can cover the costs to put on events, travel to battleground states, and get Nikki’s message out. Our grassroots supporters are stepping up, but every day we get closer to the start of voting, new expenses will continue to grow. Travel will pick up even more. We will need money to launch ads across the country. We will need to fund more ground game efforts in early voting states.
