John, news broke this morning on a potential third indictment
for the former President. According to his social posts, the Grand Jury on
January 6th allegedly sent a letter to Trump to appear before the Grand
Jury and face a potential third indictment and arrest. 

And still...the Republican party has doubled down on its support and
loyalty to the former President, who incited an attempted coup on our
nation. The narrative has evolved from the day of January 6th and
Republicans crying out in support of law enforcement to the present day
and their attacks on the Justice Department. 

Today, they have said things like:

* "This is the only way the Democrats have to beat President Trump...”
- Rep. Greene

* "Joe Biden’s DOJ... if you’re President Trump and do nothing wrong?
PROSECUTE."
- Rep. Jim Jordan

* "President Trump just increased his lead in the polls. So what does
the Biden Administration do next? Weaponize government to go after
President Biden’s number one opponent."
- Speaker Kevin McCarthy

* "I will be introducing legislation to DEFUND Jack Smith’s witch hunt
against President Trump. They are attacking our democracy and engaging
in election interference right now."
- Rep. Matt Gaetz
