John,
Residents of Atlanta, Georgia have 27 days left to put a referendum on the ballot this November that would let the public vote on whether their tax dollars should be used to fund the construction of a massive police training facility dubbed "Cop City.”
By August 14, organizers need to collect at least 70k signatures from eligible voters across Atlanta and it’s going to take all of us, wherever we're from, to help them pull off this feat.
Over the next few weeks, Working Families Power will be reaching out to thousands of Atlanta residents through door-to-door canvasses, phone banks, text parties, and emails like this to discuss what’s at stake for community safety, environmental health, and more if we don’t stop Cop City.
Can you pitch in to ensure we have the resources we need to get as many signatures as possible, and put a referendum on the ballot this November to let the people of Atlanta decide the fate of Cop City?

If built, the ramifications of Cop City would stretch far beyond Atlanta, John.
Atlanta would become the blueprint for every major city in the U.S. — over-policed, heavily surveilled, and under-protected.
We risk corporations and organizations following Atlanta’s lead in other cities like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago — proposing to destroy more acres of forest land, erect more domestic versions of military bases, and train more cops to deploy urban warfare tactics against communities.
In this unprecedented moment of popular resistance, when Hollywood writers and actors are joining teachers, nurses, doctors, railway workers, Amazon, UPS, Starbucks, and other unions on the picket line — authorities want nothing more than to break this spirit.
And they’ll build more Cop Cities to do it.
But right now, we have a chance to stop this from happening, and bring Atlanta’s Cop City to a direct vote that would let the public decide their own future.
Any amount you donate, whether big or small, will make a real difference in helping us reach as many voters as possible, collect as many signatures as we can, and put this referendum on the November ballot.
Contribute to join our movement against corporate greed and police terror, and defeat Cop City for good.
