When I go to work in Washington, the people back home in Illinois are at the front of my mind.

But I’ll tell you, any job is better with good coworkers, and that’s exactly what Tim Kaine is. Not only have we built a genuine friendship over the years, we make for a great team in the Senate. We can always count on Tim to be a hard worker, a policy expert, and a voice of reason.

This race is important to me. Not only is it crucial that we hold every Democratic seat, I don’t want to lose one of my favorite coworkers in the Senate. Tim Kaine is great fun to be around. And he’s always ready to work hard and get the job done on our shared legislative priorities.

Senator Kaine was there when we passed the First Step Act to begin reforming our criminal justice system. He was there for Democrats’ historic Inflation Reduction Act , lowering costs for families and taking action on climate change. And just last week, Virginia’s Senator was there again, cosponsoring my bill with Rep. Ayanna Pressley to end federal use of the death penalty.

It is critical that we stop the Republican Senate takeover in 2024. I’m also asking as a personal request: don’t let the GOP unseat my friend Tim Kaine and replace him with a MAGA buffoon .
