While those with higher incomes are more likely to report that they are in good health, people without insurance are twice as likely to skip treatment.2
There’s absolutely no reason that millions of people should be forced to choose between making ends meet and seeking necessary medical care.
It’s no coincidence that at the same time, giant health care corporations are driving up the costs of care and pocketing billions of dollars every year.
Health care corporations have billions of dollars at their disposal and curry favor with politicians by donating vast sums to their campaigns. We know that our strength lies in our numbers and our ability to collectively take action. The Patients Over Profits pledge is about using our collective power to demand that candidates and elected officials reject campaign contributions from the industry.
