Dear John,
Last month, we shared with you the heartbreaking news that a mother-of-three was sentenced to two years imprisonment for using abortion medication to illegally end her own pregnancy.
Today, judges at the Court of Appeal have declared that the case deserves 'compassion not punishment' and ordered her release.

This is a huge victory - and we are so grateful to every person who shared the campaign, emailed their MP, and joined us when we marched on Parliament in June.
But the fight is not over.
Two women who are accused of illegally ending their own pregnancies are currently awaiting trial.
We will keep fighting to reform our abortion law that no more women will have to face the trauma of lengthy police investigations and the threat of prison.
We know times are difficult for many, but, if you are able to, please consider making a one-off donation to our fighting fund or pledge to support our work with a monthly donation.

We will continue to fight to decriminalise abortion - and, together, we will win.
Thank you, as always, for your support.
Best wishes,
Katherine and the team at BPAS
