We know it’s still early in this race, and you might be looking for a reason to support Dr. Brian Williams — so we wanted to give you three good ones.

1. He has real legislative experience in Washington.

Dr. Brian Williams worked as a gun safety advocate and health policy advisor for Sen. Chris Murphy, helping pass the most significant piece of gun legislation in our country’s history. He’s also served as an advisor to then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, promoting affordable healthcare, pandemic preparedness, and a bolstered healthcare workforce. He’s contributed to every step of the legislative process, from drafting bills to gathering bipartisan support. Now, he’s ready to finish the work he started in Washington.

2. He is dedicated to service.

Dr. Williams was raised in a family with a history of military service dating back to the Civil War, and it was from this history of service that he learned the values of patriotism, service, and justice. Throughout his time in the Air Force, and his career as a trauma surgeon, Brian has shown over and over again his commitment to serving this country. When there’s a crisis, Dr. Williams answers the call - he’s ready to serve.

3. He can add a vital voice to the fight to end gun violence.

Like so many Americans, for Dr. Williams, gun violence is personal. Working in the country’s operating rooms, he treated the never-ending flow of victims of gun violence, and he has had to tell far too many mothers that their children had died from gun violence. After a shooting in Dallas in 2016, he became the only surgeon in history to operate on multiple on-duty police officers victimized in a mass shooting. Ever since that night, he’s advocated for gun safety and an end to the epidemic of gun violence. If elected, he will provide a vital voice promoting gun safety for years to come in a safe Democratic seat
