Update on the Carla Foster case
& what YOU can do to help:
Dear SPUC supporter

Last month, we informed you of the tragic case of Carla Foster, who was sentenced to 28 months imprisonment for taking abortion pills which ended the life of her daughter Lily at 32 weeks gestation.

To recap, Baby Lily was stillborn at around 32 weeks gestation after her mother Carla Foster obtained and took abortion pills by giving false information to BPAS' telemedicine abortion line. Ms Foster was sentenced to 28 months imprisonment on 12 June 2023.

Now, Carla Foster has been freed on appeal, and the pro-abortion lobby are continuing to exploit this case to aggressively campaign for abortion to be decriminalised - that is, to remove it from the criminal law and remove all protections for unborn babies like Lily.

We cannot let abortion activists seize the narrative and exploit this case to remove legal protection from babies like Lily. Please contact your MP now and let them know that abortion should NOT be decriminalised.

We have created an online tool to help you do this. Just input your postcode to bring up who your MP is, edit the template, and press submit. We are not providing a full template email, as it is very important that this message be written in your own words. MPs need to hear the real concerns of their constituents. However, there are resources to help you write your message on the webpage.

We need make it clear to MPs that this tragic case should not be used to remove all protection from unborn babies. Indeed, baby Lily’s death shows that safeguards around the pills by post scheme are entirely inadequate, and it should be scrapped.

Please urgently contact your MP about this case.
